Wegmans Searching Coast to Coast to Fill Openings at Newton Store

Wegmans has 550 openings at its new store in Newton, and the store is getting word out far and wide to fill those positions.

An announcement about the jobs appeared on the Sacramento Bee Website on Monday.

The supermarket will open in the spring of 2014, and Wegmans recruiters are looking for a variety of workers.

"Available full-time positions include everything from customer service and entry-level management positions, to culinary professionals. The Chestnut Hill store will employ approximately 550 people, approximately 450 of whom will be hired locally. Of these, at least 150 full-time positions will be filled. Part-time positions will be announced at a later date," the announcment read.

The 85,000 square-foot store will include an 11,000 square-foot wine seciton, Wegmans said.
