Residents Of North Adams Are Now Required To Boil Their Water (live959.com) — North Adams residents on parts of Main Street, State Road, and Biltmore Avenue still must boil their water or use bottled water, even though the wider city boil order has been lifted. The Water Department is repairing remaining breaks, testing for bacteria, and will notify affected addresses when tap water is safe again. 
2. More Buses to the Berkshires Coming In 2026 (streetsblog.org) — Starting in early 2026, new Link413 buses will give North Adams residents faster, limited-stop connections to Pittsfield, Adams, and Greenfield, with upgraded coaches and Wi‑Fi. These routes will tie North Adams into a larger western Massachusetts transit network, making it possible to reach far more communities by bus, all the way across the state.
3. New BRTA Administrator Keen on Getting People Where They Need to Go (iberkshires.com) — New BRTA administrator Kathleen Lambert is eyeing better service in the Pittsfield–North Adams–Williamstown corridor, including potential microtransit options that could benefit local riders. She’s also focused on clearer bus signage, upgraded tracking technology, and recruiting more drivers through trade schools and union-supported training, aiming to make regional transit more reliable and accessible for North County residents.
4. The Breeders, Gang of Four, Billy Bragg to Headline Wilco's Solid Sound Festival 2026 (pitchfork.com subscription) — Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival will return to MASS MoCA in North Adams from June 26–28, 2026, bringing major acts like The Breeders, Gang of Four, and Billy Bragg. Local residents can expect music, comedy, film screenings, yoga, nature hikes, and more, with tickets already on sale.
