Man Held For Dangerousness Hearing For Allegedly Pulling Gun on Plow Driver

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - A local man was involved in an alleged road rage incident on Tuesday in Andover, according to police.

A 51-year-old local man was arraigned in Lawrence District Court on Dec. 30 on several charges related to allegedly pulling a gun on a plow driver on Tuesday morning in a parking lot on North Main Street in Andover.

Michael McCullom, 51, of Andover, is charged with assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm), according to police.

The plow driver, a North Andover man, will be summonsed to Lawrence District Court for assault and battery and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, according to Police Chief Patrick Keefe. Police did not identify that man.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, at approximately 8:30 a.m., dispatch received a call from a resident of Poor Street who reported that a physical altercation was taking place at the 354 North Main St. parking lot. Officers arrived and witnessed two men yelling at each other.

McCullom was driving on Lowell Street and attempting to turn onto North Main Street. At the same time, the other man was operating a snow plow traveling in the opposite direction, and he also attempted to turn onto North Main Street. The two nearly crashed into each other, according to authorities.

The victim, Paul Connelly, told 7News/whdh.com, that McCullom threw him to the ground, and pointed the gun at him.

McCollum was scheduled for a dangerousness hearing on Dec. 31.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
