Andover officials said residents and pets should remain indoors while the vehicle is operating in these designated areas. Residents are asked to close doors and windows on the street side, which can be reopened 30 minutes after the truck passes. Air conditioners can remain on.

The city said the materials being applied during the operation are:

  • Suspend Polyzone, which lasts up to 90 days and is an effective residual barrier formulation that controls adult mosquitos, even in warmer and wet environments. The Safety Data Sheet and product label can be viewed on the NEMMC website.
  • Zenivex E4-RTU, which is a high efficacy, reduced risk adulticide that provides quick, permanent knockdown and reliable control of adult mosquito populations in any mosquito habitat flying at the time of operations. The product contains no synergist, therefore no Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO). Its Safety Data Sheet also is available on the NEMMC website.

For more information about the operation, residents are asked to contact the NEMMC at 978-3520-2800.
