North Andover Company's Backyard Ice Rinks Get Gretzky Endorsement
The hockey legend has signed on to be an unpaid ambassador for a local company that sells backyard ice hockey rinks.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A North Andover resident's backyard ice rink company has gotten a huge boost in the form of an endorsement from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, according to the Boston Business Journal.
YardRink was started by Brian Packard in 2022. He said that the company's rinks set themselves apart from the competition as they are easier to set up and cheaper.
In 2023, the company became an official product of the National Hockey League. This allows YardRink to customize its products with the logos of all NHL teams.

Now it has the approval of the sport's biggest star in Gretzky.
"I grew up playing backyard hockey. I wish YardRink were around back then!" Gretzky's endorsement reads on the company's website.

Gretzky retired in 1999 after a storied career with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers. He remains the leading scorer in NHL history.
