North Andover Reports 183 Active Cases, Down Over 100 From Peak

The confirmed case count remains higher than any period before December.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover reported 183 active coronavirus cases Monday, down over 100 from the peak earlier in December.

Still, the confirmed case count is higher than at any point prior to early December. The town's caseload peaked at 304 on Dec. 17.

The current cases bring the town 6o 1,672 total, with 1,428 recoveries and 61 deaths. Just two of the active cases are at Merrimack College.

The town was again designated high risk by the state Thursday, with a positive test rate of 7.65 percent.

Town Manager Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues said the town is seeking to become a vaccination site.

"We have filled out the paperwork to be a vaccination site but have no additional information at this time," she said on Twitter.
