North Andover Reports 227 Active Coronavirus Cases, New Increase

The town added 58 cases in the last two days, ending a post-Christmas drop in cases.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover again has over 200 coronavirus cases, the town reported, after a brief drop in confirmed following Christmas. Testing dropped statewide around the Christmas holiday.

As of Tuesday, North Andover had 227 active cases, up from 178 a week prior. Fifty-eight cases were added in the last two days.

Just two active cases are at Merrimack College.

The town has also reported a number of coronavirus deaths in recent weeks. Sixty-seven residents have died of the virus, up from 47 at the beginning of December. That includes at least 10 deaths at the Prescott House nursing home in the last month, according to state data.

The latest cases bring the town to 1,868 total cases since March, with 1,574 recoveries.
