North Andover To Welcome Catmobile For Spay/Neuter Clinics
Run by the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, the Catmobile also offers vaccinations, nail trims, flea treatment and microchips.
NORTH ANDOVER — The Catmobile is coming to North Andover, offering a low-cost, mobile spay/neuter clinic.
Sponsored by the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS), the Catmobile will be at the North Andover Police Station, located at 1475 Osgood St., on May 5 and May 19. Appointments can be made online through the Catmobile website.
According to the MRFRS, the Catmobile is staffed by a veterinarian and a technician, who can assist up to 30 cats per day.

The Catmobile offers packages that include: a brief exam, spay/neuter, rabies vaccination for cats over 12 weeks of age (weighing 1.5 kg/3.3 lbs.), FVRCP vaccination, tattoo, nail trim, flea treatment and the implanting of a microchip.
According to the Catmobile website, the services cost $100 for male cats and $150 for female cats, though the prices are adjusted if the cat does not need all of the services.

For cats who are 2 to 3 years old, Catmobile representatives recommend that pre-operative bloodwork be done ahead of time by the cat's veterinarian. The bloodwork cannot be done on the Catmobile.
Since it began in 2008, the MRFRS Catmobile has been responsible for spaying/neutering over 72,000 cats, helping to reduce feline overpopulation in the region.
