North Andover Winter Storm Center

Another week, another snowstorm. It may be the last day of winter, but the weather doesn't seem to care.

The most recent forecasts call for North Andover to get 4-to-8 inches of new snow from this storm.

The snow, which started late Monday night, is expected to continue until late Tuesday afternoon.

On his weather blog, WHDH's Jeremy Reiner writes:

"Tuesday will be a stormy day across the region with snow for just about everyone during the morning rush and mix of snow, sleet & rain along the coast by mid morning and just plain rain for the immediate coast by noon. It will stay in the form of all snow for the I-495/ Rt2 region."

Inland in the Merrimack Valley, the snowfall is expected to last longer and not become rain.

WCVB is predicting higher amounts, calling for 10 inches in North Andover.

5:50 a.m. Schools are closed. Winter parking ban is in effect.

8:00 a.m. Roads are pretty slippery out there for the morning commute. Lots of ice under that snow.

9:00 a.m. Jeremy Reiner says on his WHDH Weather Blog, "The worst of the storm is behind us with the heavy snow just now shifting offshore and milder air beginning to take hold. We'll still see pockets of precipitation throughout the day but it will be in the form of sleet inland & just plain rain along the coast-south shore."

9:10 a.m. Barry Burbank of WBZ writes on his blog, "Expect additional snowfall of 1-3″ north of the MA Pike this afternoon and evening before tapering off to light snow this evening."
