North Andover's Laurie Burzlaff Receives YWCA Tribute To Women Award
Burzlaff, who is North Andover's assistant town manager and director of operations, will be honored at a May 17 event in Andover.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Laurie Burzlaff, North Andover's assistant town manager and director of operations, has been named as one of the recipients of the Tribute to Women Award from the Lawrence-based YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts.
The awards will be presented to Burzlaff and 19 other honorees at the 40th annual Tribute to Women Luncheon, which takes place from noon to 2 p.m. on May 17 at Andover Country Club.
"Each May, the YWCA of Northeastern Massachusetts honors a select group of remarkable women who contribute to the communities within our service areas," the YWCA said in a statement.

According to her nominators, Burzlaff shows up every day for the Merrimack Valley and the Town of North Andover.
"Whether it's innovative programming to help our at-risk residents, facilitating major projects or just making sure town government runs smoothly and transparently, (Burzlaff) excels in every way," the nominators said in a statement.

The YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts was founded in 1892 and serves over 15,000 women, children and families in the community each year through a number of programs, services, workshops, classes and outreach events.
"The YWCA is a wonderful organization and I am honored and so grateful to receive this recognition," Burzlaff told Patch. "North Andover is lucky to have a number of remarkable women who work every day to make our community a better place."
