Rollover Prompts Manhunt, K-9 Search

Police are still investigating.

A vehicle rollover Friday night led to a manhunt with a K-9 search.

Just before 11 p.m. Friday night, police received a report of a vehicle rollover into a field on Johnson Street. There were reportedly three or four people in the vehicle, all of whom fled on foot.

Firefighters located one of the passengers at a home on Jay Street, suffering from facial injuriues and a possible concussion. That person was taken to Lawrence General Hospital.

Then the Sheriff's Department joind in, with K-9 units sent to Holly Ridge Road to start a track the passengers who fled.

Just before midnight, police found blood on the ground at a home on Old Cart Way. They also saw a male in the house who would not answer the door. Police went in an open door, and the male admitted to having been in the accident.

Shortly before 1 a.m., a third passenger was located on Francis Street and was taken to Lawrence General Hospital. Police contiued searching for leads on additional passengers.

Police are still investigating. There have been no arrests so far.
