In Court: Employee Steals Jewelry from BJ's; OUI; Assault

The following cases involve Northborough residents and/or occurred in Northborough.

Julia M. Melia, 20, of 191 W. Main St., Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint Dec. 16 by Westborough police and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the first charge on payment of $140 in court costs and found her not responsible on the second charge.

Matthew Arnold, 24, of 6 Sandy Bar Drive, Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 21 by Northborough police and charged with OUI liquor and miscellaneous equipment violation. Judge Virzi continued the case to June 8.

John J. Moynihan III, 60, of 16B Nova Drive, Pepperell, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 20 by Northborough police and charged with OUI liquor. Judge Virzi continued the case to May 30.

Tara Mcleod, 18, of 5 Howe Lane, Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 21 by Northborough police and charged with OUI liquor, marked lanes violation and driving negligently. Judge Virzi continued the case to June 4.

John P. Gremo, 26, of 2 Fiske Dr., Apt. 4C, Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 22 by Northborough police and charged with OUI liquor and marked lanes violation. Judge Virzi continued the case to May 17.

Derek Kral, 26, of 38 Main St., Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 22 by Northborough Police and charged with OUI. Judge Virzi continued the case to May 17.

Katy Gersh, 27, of 450 Green St., Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint April 12 by Northborough police and charged with possession of a class E substance, possession of a class B substance and possession of a class C substance. Judge Virzi continued the case to June 25.

Juliana Braga, 32, of 1640 Worcester Rd., Apt. 31D, Framingham, was arrested Jan. 16 by Northborough police and charged with assault and battery. Judge Virzi dismissed the case.

Peter L. Verdini, 39, of 1527 Grafton Rd., Millbury, was arrested Dec. 28 by Northborough police and charged with possession of a class A drug. Judge Virzi found sufficient facts and continued the case without a finding to April 23, 2013, with substance evaluation and a treatment. He was also ordered to remain drug-free, subject to random screenings.

Julius C. Durant Jr., 33, of 77 Waterman Ave., first floor, East Providence, R.I., was summonsed to court on a complaint Oct. 21 by Northborough police and charged with driving without a registration, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and number plate violation to conceal identity. Judge Virzi found him responsible and filed the first and third charge; the third charge was decriminalized. He dismissed the second charge.

Shawn J. Leblanc, 37, of 45 Nashoba Drive, Marlborough, was arrested Feb. 28 by Northborough police and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding in violation of special regulations. Judge Virzi found him guilty on the first charge and fined him $500 and found him not responsible on the second charge.

Miguel Torres, 44, of 6 Ellsmere St. #2, Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint Feb. 2 by Northborough police and charged with larceny from a building and larceny over $250 in a single scheme. On both charges, Judge Virzi found sufficient facts, continued the case without a finding to March 29, 2014 and placed him on two years’ supervised probation. He was also ordered to pay $5,090.82 in restitution. The charges resulted from the theft of jewelry from BJ’s, where he was an employee, police reports said. Security footage showed him removing jewelry from boxes in the customer return area and placed it in his clothing, police reports said. He confessed to the theft, police reports said.

Ahsan Mubashir, 22, of 214 E. Mountain St., Apt. 138, Worcester, was arrested March 20 by State Police in Northborough and charged with driving with a suspended license. Judge Virzi dismissed the charge.
