The Town of Northborough Scholarship Committee is holding an athletic shoe drive fundraiser through Sunday, November 5. This unique fundraising program asks the community to reach into closets, not pockets.

GotSneakers, a social enterprise, will issue funds based on the quantity of gently worn, used and new sneakers collected.

The sneaker recycling program helps keep sneakers out of landfills, which has harmful effects on the environment. The EPA estimates that 200-300 million pairs of shoes are thrown into landfills each year.
