Federal authorities have cited a Malden welding company in connection with a nine-alarm fire at a Back Bay brownstone on March 26 that killed two Boston firefighters, according to WCVB.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued D&J Ironworks, at 59 Waite St. Ext. in Malden, 10 citations, totaling $58,000 in fines, according to the report.
The company, welding next door at 296 Beacon St. on March 26, ignited the blaze at 298 Beacon St. by working in unsafe conditions, according to authorities.

The fire claimed the lives of Boston Fire Lt. Ed Walsh, a Watertown native living in West Roxbury, and Boston firefighter Michael Kennedy, of West Roxbury.
