Police: Blood-Covered Man Tore Out Commercial Street Parking Gates

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston Police Officers responded to a report of vandalism in progress in the parking lot at 269 Commercial Street at 12:50 a.m. on March 23.

Officers observed the two parking lot gates had been ripped off and lying on the ground. At this point, a witness met officers and pointed them in the direction of the suspect.

Officers observed an individual in the rear of the lot attempting to flee the scene. When the officers confronted the suspect, he admitted that he had broken the gates with his hands. Witnesses stated that the suspect was harassing people on the street and then tore the gates off for no apparent reasons.

Officers arrested Justin Bogard of 55 Station Landing, Medford, MA, and charged him with malicious destruction of property over $250.

Officers observed that Bogard cut his hand during the incident and had dried blood on his face, hands and pants, but declined EMS treatment.
