Police: Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct at Puopolo Park

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston Police responded to a report of a large group of kids drinking and causing a disturbance at the Puopolo Park near 475 Commercial St. at about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Officers arrived on the scene and found that most of the crowd had dispersed and a few young men were causing the commotion. As officers approached, the young men left the scene except for one, who shouted at police that he did not have to leave the area because he was going to the feast.

Officers told the man that the feast had ended for the night and that he was walking in the wrong direction. The man started walking toward the group he was with when he allegedly turned and started cursing at the officers. Officers saw the man charge down the street, knocking into pedestrians, failing his arms and swearing.
