Janice Haines Thayer passed away Sept. 15, 2012 after a short illness. She was born in Mansfield in 1921 and graduated from Mansfield High School. Janice and her family moved to Sarasota, Fla. in 1963 as owners of the Grey Gull Motel after many years managing the Wheaton College Inn in Norton. Janice retired in 1983 and spent many years between Dennisport and Sarasota, Fla. She moved to Longwood, Fla. in 2007 to be closer to family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alice-Ann and Don Cook; her four grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren.
