Due to several recent house breaks in Norton, police detectives have been focusing efforts on residential neighborhoods. On Dec. 17, at approximately 1:15 p.m., while patrolling the area of Plain Street, Norton detective Todd Bramwell observed a suspicious vehicle pull into a driveway and two males and one female exit the vehicle. As Bramwell approach the subjects, one male went to the rear of the residence and fled on foot.
Norton detectives and patrol officers began searching the area for the male subject. Raynham police K-9 officer, sergeant James Donovan and Taunton police K-9 officer, Robert Schwartz, assisted in the search. Mansfield Police also responded.
At 3 p.m., police were notified of a house break on Briggs Street. Officers responded and immediately began searching the area. The K9s were able to track the suspect's direction of travel through the woods. Through the use of the K9s and information from a jogger who observed a suspicious person, officers were able to concentrate on a specific area. At 3:40 p.m., Bramwell observed a male matching the description of the suspect walking on Myles Standish Boulevard in Taunton. Bramwell identified the male as Adam Carine, 22, of Mansfield.
