Coach's Brief: Norwood Girls' LAX Beats Milton, 14-3

A strong effort by the bench led the Mustangs to victory.

From Coach Caitlin Harrington

Norwood beat Milton 14-3. We came out a little flat-footed but quickly took the lead. We ended the first half 6-2 and did not let Milton score again until the last five minutes of the game.

The great thing about this game was the effort put forth by the bench. Four of our goals were scored by non-starters.

Our defense is working hard in practice and continues to progress although it's not as consistent as I would like to see and we still have a lot of work to do. Alayna Fogg and Amy Moynihan on defense along with Leah Murphy in net are invaluable down low for facilitating communication and directing younger athletes.

Player highlights: Allison Ryan had three goals. Marykate Galvin had one goal, one assist. Brittany Sullivan had two goals, three assists. Kacie Smith had one goal, one assist. Kelsey Colbert had two goals. Lauren Harrington had one goal, one assist. Sammy Hayes had three goals, one assist. Sarah French had one goal.
