Free Tax Assistance Available to Norwood Seniors

Now through April 15, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will provide free tax assistance and preparation at the Norwood Senior Center.
Available to middle-and low-income taxpayers, with special attention given to those 60 and older, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the largest, volunteer-run tax assistance program in the country. To schedule an appointment, call 781-762-1201.
This year, more than 575 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers have been trained in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to assist taxpayers with the preparation of basic federal and state tax returns. They are well-versed in federal and state tax rules, including the “Circuit Breaker” tax credit, which is available for Massachusetts property owners and renters who are 65 and older and meet certain criteria.
