NHS Student Wins Award at Berklee Jazz Festival

NHS student saxophonist Nick Martin won an Outstanding Musicianship Award at the Berklee College of Music 44th High School Jazz Festival.

Norwood High student saxophonist Nick Martin won an Outstanding Musicianship Award at the Berklee College of Music 44th High School Jazz Festival, the largest event of its kind in the U.S. 

More than 3,000 students and 200 bands competed for $175,000 in scholarships to Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program on Saturday, March 10, at the Hynes Convention Center, in Boston. The Norwood High Band, directed by Steven Conant, took fourth place in the class three large ensemble competition.
