Norwood Declares State Of Emergency After Floods
Norwood is currently working with state and federal officials to identify resources to help residents affected by the storm.

NORWOOD, MA — Norwood declared a State of Emergency following Sunday's heavy rain and flash flooding. The town is working with state and federal officials to identify resources to help residents affected by the storm, and is also working with Norwood Hospital to help the organization reopen as soon as possible.
Starting Wednesday, residents who suffered significant property damage as a result of the storm are encouraged to email managers@norwoodma.gov their name, address and phone number, along with a brief description of the damage. While email is preferred, those unable to do so may call the citizen information center at 781-352-2363 and either leave the information with a call taker or leave a message with the information.
Governor Charlie Baker said the state is looking for a place for the hospital's clinicians. At his briefing on Wednesday, Baker said it was unclear when the hospital will be able to reopen.

"The thing we’ve really been focused on is making sure we find places and spaces for the clinicians, so that those clinicians can continue to maintain the relationships they have with their patients," Baker said. "That’s really been our focus for the past couple of days and we are expecting to continue to have a dialogue with the hospital about what their plans are with respect to the physical structure."
A hotline has also been set up for individuals who are looking for a loved one who is a patient at Norwood Hospital and has been evacuated. The hotline number is: 781-769-4000. The hospital was fully evacuated on Monday and remains temporarily closed following Sunday's storm.
