Norwood Police Log: Threats, B&E and Assault

Friday, March 30

6:53 a.m. - Officer was flagged down on Union St. by a resident reporting a breaking and entering to his vehicle overnight. Police filed a report.

9:18 a.m. - Caller reported larceny on Winfield St. Police filed a report.

9:43 a.m. - Radio report of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on Brewster Dr. Police filed a report.

2:24 p.m. - Young caller on Sturtevant Ave. reported a friend was assaulted. Police filed a report.

4:26 p.m. - Caller on Nahatan St. reported ex-wife pushed her way into his apartment and assaulted him and his girlfriend. Female suspect fled prior to officers arrival. Sharon PD checked female's address, placed one Lucretia Washington under arrest for assault and battery, breaking and entering, and malicious destruction of property over $250.

6:06 p.m. - Caller at BMW Gallery on Route 1 reported larceny of an iPhone. Police filed a report.

9:10 p.m. - Caller reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle at the Vanderbilt Club. Police filed a report.

10:23 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported son threatened him with a knife. As a result, police arrested Peter T. Karafotias for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, March 31

10:28 a.m. - Caller reported fire in the heating duct at Ellis Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. NFD reported maintenance able to put out the fire upon arrival.

2:37 p.m. - Caller at UPS reported auto theft, told his vehicle was seen being towed. Officers spoke to all parties, truck was towed by accident.

8:04 p.m. - Caller reported suspicious female on Edgehill Rd. Officer placed female into protective custody.

Sunday, April 1

2:27 a.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle crash at Kings Rd. As a result, police arrested Matthew R. Cullen, of Stoughton, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

10:03 a.m. - Caller reported coyote running around Boston-Providence Highway between u-turn and The Chateau. Officer reported the animal ran into the woods.

2:28 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported parked car hit while in the spaces near CVS on Nahatan St. Police filed a report.

3:50 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident, car into tree on Lansdowne Way. Police filed a report.

9:48 p.m. - Caller reported three males jumped the fence at the Light Yard on Short St. and were stealing copper wire. Officers reported parties left prior to arrival and left wire behind.
