Sweeper Tryouts Presented by Dedham Savings on December 8th

The Skating Club of Boston, the local organizing committee for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025, has partnered with Dedham Savings to host the official sweeper tryouts for figure skating’s most prestigious annual competition. The Dedham Savings Sweepers will be 40 skaters aged 6-14 years old who will pick up stuffed animals and other skater gifts thrown on the ice after a skater’s performance during the five-day event.

The Sweeper Tryouts presented by Dedham Savings will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center at The Skating Club of Boston. During the tryouts, registered skaters will be asked to perform drills taught onsite and participate in warm-ups and other activities that will simulate sweeper responsibilities during the event.

Judges will include Olympic Medalist Mirai Nagasu, representatives from Dedham Savings, and local figure-skating officials.

Skaters must be available for the tryouts on December 8, 2024 and mandatory practices on Saturday, February 8, 2025, and Monday, March 24, 2025. The deadline to register for the tryouts is Sunday, November 24, 2024.
