Brooksby Offers a Personalized Approach to Discovering Its Vibrant Lifestyle

After joining Brooksby's Priority List, Claire White experienced the community's vibrant lifestyle firsthand

Claire White had her eye on Brooksby Village, an Erickson Senior Living community in Peabody, Mass., for almost a decade, knowing she'd want to make the move when she retired.

But after joining Brooksby's Priority List and experiencing the community's vibrant lifestyle firsthand, she decided to move sooner than she had originally planned.

"I was participating in different events and dinners and meeting people at Brooksby," says Claire, while continuing her career as a senior lecturer at Boston University. "Those visits were particularly helpful in making my decision to move!"

See for yourself

"Once someone joins the Priority List," explains Associate Sales Director Maddison Reyes, "they are invited to enjoy meals at on-campus restaurants and attend specialty events. From financial seminars and downsizing classes to cocktail parties with resident ambassadors, there are so many ways for members to experience Brooksby and prepare for their move."

"One event I attended was called the Parade of Homes," recalls Claire. At that event, members walk through several residence buildings to tour available floor plans and see how current residents have furnished and personalized their homes.

"You get to see, for instance, what an Ellicott floor plan really looks like, and how people have decorated," Claire says. "That was really great. And I kept meeting lovely people!"

Priority List members can also choose to learn more about residences and have their questions answered one-on-one through personal appointments with the sales team.

"Scheduling an appointment allows us to address questions about pricing and your unique needs in a relaxed and comfortable environment," says Reyes. "Our team works to meet people where they are. We want prospective residents to discover Brooksby at their own pace."

Live the Life

Priority List members also have the opportunity to sign up for a Live the Life stay--an overnight experience in a furnished guest suite complete with a personalized itinerary. Guests can utilize amenities, join club meetings, dine at on-campus restaurants, and spend time with current residents.

"It's the best way to live the same kind of lifestyle our current residents do," notes Reyes.

"I decided to do Live the Life in the summer of 2024," says Claire. "A sales associate asked me what I was interested in. I wanted to see the community, walk around, participate, and have some meals. She connected me with a Brooksby resident ambassador."

Resident ambassadors volunteer to greet prospective residents, answering questions about life in the community and sharing their personal experiences.

Claire continues, "I was paired with a wonderful woman who had recently moved to Brooksby. She showed me around and made me feel so welcomed. She introduced me to other people around my age too."

In fact, the two really hit it off and have become great friends!

The right decision

But what really made a difference for Claire was sharing her interest in moving to Brooksby with a family member.

"I asked the sales team if my brother could visit with me," she recalls. Given a resounding yes, Claire scheduled a tour for two. "We walked around the whole campus and met people. Afterward, he said, 'I can really see why you're thinking about this!'"

With her brother's stamp of approval, Claire moved forward with selling her condo in North Reading, Mass. She then worked with Brooksby's planning and moving consultant, who helped her decide what to bring to her new home--another exclusive perk of the Priority List.

'Welcoming environment'

Since settling into her extra large, one-bedroom residence with a patio in March, Claire has invited family over to enjoy meals at the many restaurants on campus. The Cider House and its French onion soup are her favorite.

Even though she's busy teaching at Boston University, she makes plenty of time to stroll Brooksby's beautifully landscaped grounds and visit the chapel.

"I also love music, so I attend concerts and dances here," Claire says. "Every day, I meet new people who often ask me to join them for dinner or ask if I have time for this or that activity. It's a very welcoming environment!"

She adds, "Joining the Priority List offered me the opportunity of really hearing more about the community and all the amenities," which she now enjoys every day.
