Peabody police said the man stole the car, took off from police and crashed into two other vehicles, then into a resident's property.
PEABODY, MA — A Danvers man is facing several charges after police said he stole a car, fled from police in a high-speed chase, crashed into two other vehicles, and then drove onto a resident's yard, causing property damage, on Friday morning.
Timothy Crane, 32, of Danvers, was charged with receiving stolen property, failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, and leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.
Police said the stolen car was reported at about 10:15 a.m. on Lynn Street going toward Washington Street, and that when they attempted to stop the driver, he turned around and fled.

Crane continued to drive the stolen car, police said, before losing control of it shortly thereafter and driving in someone's yard, narrowly missing a garage.
"The incident also caused damage to the property," police said. "With assistance from neighbors, whose home security videos proved instrumental, officers identified the suspect."
Peabody police thanked the neighbors, whose "cooperation and assistance were vital in resolving this incident."
The Amesbury, Beverly and Lynn police departments, as well as the Massachusetts State Police, assisted in the pursuit and investigation.
