Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
She is well known for soccer. In 7th grade, she played varsity for Bishop Fenwick High School. She is a student at St. Mary's in Danvers, a sister school to Fenwick.
This year as an 8th grader, she moved up from the Aztec soccer league to FC Stars.
She has won state track meets for St. Mary's two consecutive years. Mariella started running track to improve her speed on the soccer field, only to bring home the title to her school. She started playing soccer for the Peabody Hot Shots, coached by Silvio Albano, who coached her mother when she was Mariella's age. She also is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Ella has an autistic brother who she watches out for to help her mother out around the house.

She's determined to succeed and is a loving, caring girl.
