Peabody Gas Leak Closes Lowell Street Monday Afternoon

PEABODY, MA — A gas leak closed a portion of Lowell Street in Peabody on Monday afternoon.

Peabody police said the road was closed to westbound traffic from Peabody Square to Sawyer Road while the gas leak was being repaired.

A detour was in place with drivers asked to avoid the area or follow the detour signs if they have to travel in the area.
