Peabody High, St. John's Prep Graduates Awarded 2025 STEAM Scholarships

The Greater Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce awarded the two scholarships to students pursuing either a business or STEAM-related degree.

PEABODY, MA — One Peabody Veterans Memorial High School graduate and one recent graduate of St. John's Prep were awarded this year's Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce 2025 STEAM Scholarships.

Allyson Bettencourt of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and Nicholas Morad of St. John’s Prep in Danvers are this year's recipients. Bettencourt plans to attend Vassar College, while Morad will attend Holy Cross.

Each year, the Chamber awards scholarships to outstanding students pursuing either a business or STEAM-related degree, viewing the program as an investment in our future workforce. Scholarship funds were generated from the Chamber's annual Torigian Golf Classic.

"The Chamber Scholarship is about more than academic achievement — it's about recognizing the potential of tomorrow's innovators and leaders," said Deanne Healey, President of the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce. "We're proud to play a small part in helping these students reach their goals."

The Chamber said applications are reviewed in a blind selection process to ensure impartiality. Finalists are then invited to an in-person meet and greet, giving the Chamber’s scholarship committee an opportunity to get to know each candidate beyond what’s written on paper.
