With state approval, Pittsfield enters the next step for a new West Side elementary school (berkshireeagle.com) — Pittsfield has secured state approval to begin a major feasibility study for a new West Side elementary school that would replace both Crosby and Conte and reshape the city’s elementary enrollment map. Over the next 10 to 18 months, officials, consultants, and residents will help decide the design, location details, and grade configurations for what would be Pittsfield’s first new elementary school in 50 years. 
2. High-speed crash in Pittsfield leaves two injured, police investigating (wwlp.com) — Two young adults were seriously injured in a high‑speed rollover crash on Pecks Road in Pittsfield Sunday, which shut down the road for about five hours. Police say their car hit a telephone pole and two parked vehicles before overturning, and one victim was later transferred to Baystate Medical Center. Investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash to contact the Pittsfield Police Traffic Unit.
3. Berkshire County Sheriff's Office warns public of phone call scam (wwlp.com) — Pittsfield residents are being warned about scam callers posing as Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office officers and falsely claiming people have arrest warrants. The scammers then demand money through online payment services to clear the supposed warrants. Officials stress they will never call to request money and urge you to hang up immediately if you receive such a call.

Pittsfield pushes to convert county's last peaker plant into clean battery storage (berkshireeagle.com) — Pittsfield officials are pushing to convert the Merrill Road peaker plant into a clean battery storage facility, aiming to cut pollution near Morningside and Allendale and improve public health. The City Council has backed a letter seeking state support, as advocates argue the shift could reduce emissions, stabilize electric costs, and protect vulnerable neighborhoods.
