PLYMOUTH, MA — A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a fire tore through a Plymouth home early Friday morning, the town's fire chief told NBC10 Boston.

The fire was reported at around 5:25 a.m. inside a home on Post 'N Rail Avenue, Chief Neil Foley told the outlet.

There were five people inside the home, three of whom were able to escape on their own, according to NBC10 Boston. A woman was rescued by firefighters and taken to the hospital in critical condition, while a man died, the outlet reported.
