13-Year-Old Girl Killed, Man Hurt After Wareham Dirt Bike Crash
The Plymouth County District Attorney says the 13-year-old was killed after she collided with a male rider Monday afternoon.
WAREHAM, MA — A 13-year-old girl died and a man suffered injuries after a dirt bike crash in Wareham Monday afternoon.
Ava Pioppi, 13, of Carver, was at Wareham MX Park on Cranberry Highway riding on a dirt bike track around 4 p.m. when police say she appeared to have lost control after landing a jump.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said she then swerved into the other lane, colliding with a male rider.

Pioppi was taken by ambulance to Tobey Hospital where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.
The male rider was also taken to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Wareham MX Park closed Monday until further notice as a result of the accident.
The DA's Office says the investigation remains ongoing.
