3 Juveniles Arrested After Crashing Into Fire Station

As officers approached, the suspects fled, resulting in a two-minute police chase that ended when the suspect vehicle crashed.

KINGSTON, MA — Three juveniles were arrested early Monday morning after threatening to assault a Kingston resident and crashing into a fire station following a police pursuit, according to authorities.

The suspects arrived at the residents' home around 1 a.m., wearing masks and threatening assault, Kingston police said. The suspects — one of whom was known to the potential victim — might have been armed with knives and firearms, police added.

The trio of suspects then fled and attempted to "attempt to assault someone else" on Nottingham Drive, according to police.

Police responded to the second location, where they found the three suspects in a car parked outside the home appearing to be attempting to change clothing, police said.

As officers approached, the suspects fled, resulting in a two-minute police chase that ended when the suspect vehicle veered off the side of the road and crashed into the Kingston Fire Department Station 1 on Pembroke Street.

"The operator of the vehicle was found to be unlicensed and had stolen the motor vehicle from family," police said. "The operator was taken into police custody and was also transported to the hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash."

Officials added that the other vehicle occupants were also detained.

Portions of the building, including various electrical components, were severely damaged in the crash, and power was temporarily lost in the area after powerlines overhead caught fire, according to police.

The fire department is now fully operational for calls for service but "various administrative functions may be impacted for several days while repairs are made," officials said.

The suspects' identities will not be released as they are juveniles. However, police said they "anticipate the parties to face various motor vehicle and assault-related charges and the investigation remains ongoing."
