'Anomalous' Nor'easter In MA Will Bring Rain, Wind
An unusual late summer storm will move across Massachusetts Wednesday with varying impacts.

PLYMOUTH, MA — An odd late-summer nor'easter will roll through Massachusetts Wednesday, bringing varying degrees of rain and wind to the state.
The most heavy weather is forecast to hit Cape Cod starting around noon, but the intensity of the storm will diminish a lot the farther inland you go.
"An anomalous late summer nor'easter will impact eastern Massachusetts tonight and Wednesday, with strong winds and heavy rain for Cape Cod and the islands. Still uncertainty how far west beneficial rains will track," the National Weather Service said in a tweet.

Coastal areas from Newburyport all the way out to Provincetown could see up to 1 inch of rain by day's end, with wind gusts topping out at about 40 mph on the Cape.
But go inland to Worcester, Foxborough or Bedford, the wind and rain totals are halved. Those areas could see a dusting to a half inch of rain, depending on how the storm tracks.

There will be one constant for the state on Wednesday: cool temperatures. Almost the entire state east of Worcester will only reach the high 60s — and only a few degrees warmer in parts of the state west of the Quabbin Reservoir.
If you're heading to the beach today, there's a high surf advisory in effect for all coastal areas, except the New Bedford side of Buzzards Bay. There's also a small craft advisory along the coast due to wind and high seas.
