Police said a 17-year-old student was found with bullets at Jacobs Elementary School.

HULL, MA — A Hull student was found with bullets at an elementary school Thursday, according to police. The 17-year-old student is enrolled in a Hull public school special education program located at Jacobs Elementary School.
"Around noon, the high school principal received a report from a student that (the accused student) had sent them a photo of three .32 caliber bullets," Acting Hull police Chief Neil Reilly said in a statement. "No threats were made."
School officials found the student with the bullets and police were called, Reilly said. The student was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition and scheduled for an arraignment in Hingham District Court.

“We want parents and residents to rest assured that there is no danger to the community,” Reilly said. “We always stress the importance of ‘see something, say something’ and the student did the right thing by doing exactly that.”
Added Hull schools Superintendent Michael Devine, “The safety and security of our students is a priority for the district and we commend the student for recognizing the seriousness of this situation and reporting it to the administration ... We’d like to thank the Hull Police Department for their immediate response and assistance."
