Celebrate New Year's Eve in Plymouth

Looking for something to do today or tonight to celebrate the end of 2012, but don't want to go to Boston? Here are a few local ideas.

T-Bones Roadhouse is hosting a New Year's Eve party featuring a champaign toast at midnight and no cover, open til 2 a.m.

Looking for some entertainment with subtitles? Plimoth Cinema is showing A Royal Affair at 4:30 and 7 p.m. tonight. A Royal Affair is the true story of an ordinary man who wins the queen's heart and starts a revolution. Centering on the intriguing love triangle between the ever more insane Danish King Christian VII, the royal physician who is a man of enlightenment and idealism Struensee and the young but strong Queen Caroline Mathilda, A Royal Affair is the gripping tale of brave idealists who risk everything in their pursuit of freedom for their people.

Open Space Studio on Middle Street is offering free tai chi and qigong classes today. Volunteers from the Helping Hands for the Plymouth Animal Shelter will be at Cedarville Wine & Spirits, located at 2245 State Road, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today to collect monetary donations to help with veterinary care. They will also accept donated items such as kitty litter, cans and/or bags of dog and cat food, clean blankets and towels, small paper plates and cleaning supplies, including laundry and dish detergent.
