Community Rallies For Teen Girl Killed In Dirt Bike Accident
Owners of Wareham MX have organized a GoFundMe for the 13-year-old who was killed in a dirt bike accident Monday.
WAREHAM, MA — The owners of a motocross facility in Wareham have organized a GoFundMe for 13-year-old Ava Pioppi, who was tragically killed in a dirt bike accident Monday afternoon.
Pioppi, 13, of Carver, was at Wareham MX Park on Cranberry Highway riding on a dirt bike track around 4 p.m. when police say she appeared to have lost control after landing a jump and later died in a local hospital.
The male rider was also taken to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jacob Morrison, the owner of Wareham MX, created the GoFundMe to honor Ava's memory and cover her final expenses, he said all donations will go directly to Peter and Wendy Pioppi.
"Ava loved dirt bikes. She loved riding at the track and doing the summer camps every week. She was always happy every time I saw her," Morrison posted to the fundraiser. "I plan on planting a beautiful tree at the track in honor of her."

The community is rallying around the Pioppi family by contributing nearly $32,000 in just 4 hours.
As of Wednesday morning, GoFundMe has already raised $68,000.
