Five Things You Need to Know Today: March 14

The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual business expo from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Radisson Hotel.

1. Thursday, March 14, Christ Church Thrift Shoppe will hold a bag sale. The shop will provide the bag and you can fill it with men’s, women’s and children’s winter clothing for $5. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. It is located at 6 Lothrop St., in the 1830 vintage gray Hall House, across the driveway from Christ Church at 149 Court St.

Inventory includes an eclectic mix of gently used clothing and household goods, antiques, jewelry, art and the kinds of treasures thrift shop aficionados love to discover. Donations are always welcome and may be made during regular business hours. Seasonal clothing must be clean and in good or better condition. 2. The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual business expo from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Radisson Hotel Plymouth Harbor, located at 180 Water St. A networking luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Radisson. 3. Gather with more than 30 farmers, foodmakers and artisans from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, for the Winter-into-Spring local food and gift market inside the visitors’ center at Plimoth Plantation, at 137 Warren Ave. SNAP/EBT cards may be used to purchase fresh foods.

The day’s theme is “Loaves and Cheeses,” highlighting the market bakers and regional cheeses. Enjoy tastings of Irish breads, vote for your favorite and dance a jig to the music of the Lindsays performing fireside in Gainsborough Hall. Browse tables of spring greens, eggs, seafood, fresh pasta, cheeses, breads, grass-fed beef and veal, pastured pork and poultry and lots of homemade preserves and handmade goodies. Dinner bites and cocktails will be available; Plantation shops will be open; and Plimoth Cinema will screen Amour, the Oscar-winning French drama, at 4:30 and 7 p.m. This free indoor market will be held the second Thursday of each moth through May. 4. Koenig Chiropractic will host a free Half Hour to Health on this month’s topic, “Being Heart Smart,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at its 85 Samoset St. location. The workshop will address the subject of maintaining a healthy heart and overall body. For questions or to register, call Koenig Chiropractic at 508-746-5899.
