Plymouth County District Attorney's Office: Woman Killed After Being Struck By A Motor Vehicle In Abington

At approximately 7:07 p.m. last night, Abington Police responded to a call for a pickup truck versus a pedestrian on Route 18.

BROCKTON – State Police Detectives along with Abington Police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed walking along Route 18, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 7:07 p.m. last night, Abington Police responded to a call for a pickup truck versus a pedestrian on Route 18. Upon arrival, first responders observed a female in the roadway. The woman was transported to South Shore Hospital where she was pronounced dead of her injuries. She has been identified as Marissa Voller, 35, of Boston.

Abington Police contacted State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. Preliminarily, it appears that Voller was in the left travel lane of Route 18 prior to being struck. The visibility was low and the weather was misty. The male operator of the pickup truck called 911 and remained on scene.

The investigation is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services and Abington Police.
