Plymouth County Teacher Accused Of 'Inappropriate' Touching

Police said James Sullivan, of Fairhaven, had "inappropriate physical contact" with elementary students at Rochester Memorial School.

ROCHESTER, MA — A Plymouth County elementary school teacher was arrested and accused of inappropriate contact with students, police said Monday. Rochester Memorial School teacher James Sullivan, 35, of Fairhaven, was charged with assault and indecent assault on a child under the age of 14.

Rochester police said they opened an investigation May 3 after school administrators notified officers that students accused Sullivan of "inappropriate physical contact." Police said they corroborated the students' accounts of obtained a warrant for Sullivan's arrest. The teacher turned himself in Saturday and was released on $10,000 bond pending an arraignment in Wareham District Court.
