The Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Public Library are pleased to announce that they have partnered together to host an upcoming fire department touch-a-truck event this weekend. WHEN:

Saturday, Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:

Plymouth Public Library, 132 South St.

WHAT:

The Plymouth Public Library will host the Plymouth Fire Department’s upcoming Touch-A-Truck event this Saturday in place of the department’s annual open house. The event, which is free, is designed to bring the community together to meet and mingle with firefighters in a relaxed atmosphere.

Various public safety vehicles will be on display and available for residents to view and explore at the event, including a fire engine, ambulance and more. Members of the Plymouth Fire Department will also be conducting numerous firefighter demonstrations for those in attendance. Sparky the Fire Dog will also be present to greet children and their families.

Throughout the event, the library will be conducting story time on the lawn for children with each books’ theme focusing on a topic of fire safety.

Light refreshments will be provided by Plymouth Firefighter Local 1768.

“We are looking forward to this event as it is a great opportunity for families to get to know our firefighters and explore our apparatus while learning about fire safety,” Chief G. Edward Bradley said. “We encourage all residents to stop by and say hi!”
