Plymouth Teen Dies After Reaction to Peanuts
Cameron Groezinger Fitzpatrick, a college freshman who was home in Plymouth for spring break, died after having a severe reaction to a peanut butter cookie Friday.

A 19-year-old Plymouth man with severe peanut allergies died Friday after accidentally eating a peanut butter cookie; however, authorities are investigating if that was all that was in the cookie.
Cameron Groezinger Fitzpatrick, a 2012 graduate of Plymouth North High School died last Friday, was on spring break from Bryant University in Rhode Island and at home in Plymouth when the accident occurred.
According to his grandmother, Gayle Fitzpatrick, Cameron was always careful about the foods he consumed and always asked about the ingredients before eating.

"I even ordered him peanut-free chocolates online for Easter and Christmas so he wouldn't feel left out when he was growing up," Gayle said.
"Cameron was a great kid," Gayle said on her Facebook page. "He was in his first year of college and did everything right....We are all in a state of disbelief."

Police are investigating because there may have been marijuana in the cookie, however investigators don't believe foul play was involved, according to FOX 25.
Despite having asthma, Cameron played hockey and lacrosse at Plymouth North High School, and was an avid sports fan. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and DECA.
Cameron's family and friends are holding a memorial at Armstrong Arena tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m.
The funeral will take place on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter's Church in Plymouth at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plymouth. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cameron Groezinger Fitzpatrick Fund c/o Citizens Bank.
