Rainfall Totals: Southeast MA Gets Deluge, But Drought Lingers
See how much rain fell near you during one of the few real rainy days so far in summer 2022.

PLYMOUTH, MA — One of the few real rainy days of summer passed on Monday, bringing much needed moisture to the entire region — some parts of Massachusetts more than others.
The rainstorms Monday inundated southeastern parts of the state, especially between Plymouth and Sandwich. That area got between 2-1/2 and 3 inches, compared to about less than a half inch in most other parts of the state.
Monday's storms likely weren't enough to make up for the region's months-long dry spell, however. Most of eastern Massachusetts was still in an "extreme" drought as of Tuesday.
