Storm Could Bring Flooding, Red Cross Opening Shelter at Memorial Hall

Another storm will mean coastal flooding and 1-3 inches of snow for Plymouth.

With Spring just bare weeks away, old man winter isn't ready to release its grip yet.

Another ocean storm is rolling through New England beginning tonight, bringing coastal flooding to the east coast of Massachusetts and heavy snow inland. While the National Weather Service is predicting 1-3 inches of snow for Plymouth, the agency has also issued a coastal flood warning during high tides beginning Thursday morning.

With the storm surge, tides are expected to be between 1-3 feet higher than normal and could be as much as four feet higher.

The American Red Cross is opening a storm shelter at Memorial Hall on Court Street at 8 p.m. tonight, according to a press release from the town of Plymouth.

  • Tonight Rain. Patchy fog after 4am. Low around 34. Windy, with a northeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Thursday Rain before 9am, then snow. Patchy fog. High near 37. Windy, with a northeast wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Thursday Night Snow. Patchy fog. Low around 32. Windy, with a northeast wind 26 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
  • Friday Snow likely before 4pm, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Windy, with a northeast wind 25 to 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Friday Night A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 9pm and midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Saturday Sunny, with a high near 39. Breezy.
