Swimming Is Open Again At Duxbury Beach After A Shark Sighting

Swimmers were temporarily ordered out of the water of a Duxbury beach this morning after reports of a shark surfaced.

DUXBURY, MA — Duxbury officials reopened a beach after a reported shark sighting Tuesday morning.

Lifeguards ordered swimmers out of the water and shark flags were flying overhead just after 7 a.m. according to Duxbury Beach Operations.

The Harbormaster responded to the area and lifeguards reported for duty.

Once the waters were deemed safe enough to swim again, Duxbury Beach Operations urged people to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid seals at all costs.
