Wings of Freedom Tour in Plymouth: B-17G Flying Fortress

The B-17G Flying Fortress is one of three World War II aircraft that visited Plymouth.

The Collings Foundation 24th season of the Wings of Freedom Tour stopped at the Plymouth Municipal Airport this week. Three restored aircraft were on display Monday, Sept. 23, through Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The planes that visited Plymouth include the B-24J Liberator, the P-51C Mustang and the B-17G Flying Fortress.

Visitors were given a chance to enter the planes and even take a flight after the tours.

The Collings Foundation Flying Fortress that landed in Plymouth is one of only 10 B-17s still flying in the United States.
