The crash was reported around 4:39 p.m. Tuesday, when officials discovered a car on rocks about 20 feet down an embankment near the road.

PLYMOUTH, MA — Plymouth Fire officials rescued a driver from a sedan that crashed down a steep embankment off Manomet Point Road Tuesday afternoon, the department said in a news release.
The crash was reported around 4:39 p.m. Tuesday, when officials discovered a vehicle on rocks about 20 feet down a rocky embankment near the road, Plymouth Fire said.
After determining that the car was not sitting in a stable position, firefighters used a winch and a cable to secure it before using a specially-designed stretcher that can be lowered and raised using ropes to remove the driver, an unidentified woman.

"Our firefighters train constantly to be ready for whatever comes their way, and this incident is a prime example of why that training is important," Chief Foley of the Plymouth Fire Department said in the news release Tuesday. "This incident was unusual and dangerous, but our crews used their training and experience to quickly deploy a winch and Stokes basket to secure the vehicle and rescue the driver. Our firefighters work hard between incidents to be ready for emergencies like this, and today that hard work paid off."
