Credit Card and License Stolen from Woman in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the Reading Police Department log from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, Sept. 21

• At 1:19 a.m., a caller reported vandalism at the Eaton Elementary School. One of the signs in front of the school was marked with chalk.
• At 8:18 p.m., a 16-year-old Reading male was held in protective custody.

Saturday, Sept. 22

• At 7:28 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering on Birch Meadow Drive. The youths fled, but police were able to confiscate alcohol. 
• At 8:19 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering near Fairview Avenue. Police were unable to locate the youths.
• At 8:37 p.m., a caller reported seven youths throwing rocks at cars on Rustic Lane. Police advised the youths of the complaint, but they denied throwing rocks. 
• At 11:45 p.m., a Main Street resident reported that her neighbor was making threats.

Sunday, Sept. 23

• At 12:42 p.m., an intoxicated Reading man was found on Main Street and placed in protective custody.
• At 11:24 a.m., an Archstone Circle resident reported that her car was keyed overnight.
• At 3:19 p.m., a caller reported that her credit card and license were taken from her purse the day before at Market Basket.
• At 4:29 p.m., a Bancroft Avenue resident reported that a neighbor shot something by her while she was sitting on her back porch. Police spoke to the neighbor who said he was shooting a BB gun at a target and did not realize that a shot went into his neighbor's backyard. He agreed to put the gun away for the night.
• At 5:34 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Pratt Street. No injuries were reported.
• At 6:37 p.m., a Norman Road resident reported two males sleeping in the yard across from his. The resident said that the males had been urinating in his yard, and when he approached them they ran off. Police spoke to the males who said they were just hanging around the area. One of the males did admit to urinating in the bushes, and said he was not able to make it home to use his restroom. They were sent on their way.
• At 7:18 p.m., an employee from the Macaroni Grill reported that a customer appeared intoxicated and tried to leave the restaurant. The customer's wife picked him up, but she let him drive. Police were unable to locate the vehicle, but did notify Wakefield Police.
• At 7:30 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. No injuries were reported.
