As you can see from our title, this year’s tour exclusively features Cape Cod houses. And what a lineup we have! While many are from the middle third of the 20th century, we also have a wonderful antique Cape that’s sure to surprise and please.
Each house boasts distinctive architectural features and mirrors its owners’ personal tastes and dreams. While several have undergone extensive renovations or have grown with two or three additions, one or two are very much as they were when originally built. What room is the most often renovated? Whether the footprint has changed or not, each owners’ creative ideas and efforts have created warm, inviting living spaces.
Whether you live in a Cape or a palace, Cape-ability reexamines this versatile house style and shows it can more than hold its own as a desirable family home.

The tour is the Friends major fundraising event; its proceeds support many activities, including the Summer Reading program, museum passes, Live Wires, and more.
Tickets go on sale at the library in early April at $25, and $20 for Friends members. Come and enjoy a great afternoon of Cape-ability!
