The song was written by Justin Cohen, Berklee College of Music Alumni (took leave in 2011). - Inspired by the passing of his younger brother, who died of SIDS at 7 months. The tragedy at Sandy Hook struck a chord with Justin and his parents, who suggested that he write the tribute.
Connor Hayes and Justin Friedberg, of "Project 2 Studios" in Manchester, NH, donated their time and studio space to record and produce the song.
20 children, ages 12 and under, sang the song with Justin, backed by 5 other musicians, totaling 20 children and 6 adults to represent the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
A video performance was captured on December 26 at The Collins Center for the Performing Arts at Andover High School (Andover, MA). This was a collaboration of many generous professionals including Dan Hnatio, Kimmie Johnson and Alex Stinson, who immediately stepped forward and donated their time, equipment and energy into a project that was put together in a matter of days.
In a mission to focus attention onto each individual victim, as opposed to a group, the children singers and musicians in the video represented each victim by personalizing name cards and raising them up one by one. Each child involved was given a specific victim to learn about and represent in the video. The children were extremely passionate.
The name cards have been placed in the right hands, and will be given to the victim's families.
Becki Dennis, founder of “Talent Tools”, gathered resources from around the area, including food donations for the production, which were generously provided by Flatbread Company, Treats Cupcakes, Perfecto’s Cafe and the 99 Restaurant.

The song and video will be distributed in various different ways, which are still being discussed, and 100 percent of any money either song or video generate will be given to the charities and organizations brought to light by the victim's families.
